Creating Smooth Transitions

Description
Explore how your image of the child and using a practice of relationships support the routines and activities you schedule into the day. Consider how the environment and careful observation of the child can support children’s understanding of their world, and how these can create positive early learning experiences for young children. You will also learn strategies to ensure that transitions become an unhurried and less stressful learning adventure by defining transitions, why they are important, and how they can support children and educators.
Participants will:
- Identify key components and factors in programs and environments
- Define transition procedures and reflect on children’s best interests
- Discover strategies for creating smooth transitions with young children
- Develop tools to build capacity in decision-making and creating responsive environments that support children and their emotional regulation
